The UU Church offers a variety of ongoing social and affinity groups for you to connect with like-minded folks.
The UU Book Group meets monthly in the church library. We find discussion is best with a group of up to 12 people, so please check with Joanna Henderson via the church office to see if the group has room before you attend.
Also known as the UU Ukes, this fun group learns and practices together most Sunday mornings at 9:30am. They sometimes perform during a worship service or at community events around Concord. Beginners welcome; instruction provided. Bring your own ukulele.
Fourth Sunday Grounds Maintenance Group
An opportunity to meet people who have a love of gardening or landscaping, or who just enjoy being outdoors. All ages welcome to help spruce up the church grounds. On the fourth Sundays, usually April through October, we come together after church to do whatever is seasonally appropriate: raking, weeding, etc. Bring tools if you have them.
The intrepid Concord UU Team plays in the Interfaith Church League, a fun, less competitive league where everyone, male and female, gets a chance to play. Practice is at Bishop Brady High School field (off Columbus Avenue in Concord) starting about the 3rd Sunday in May. Games are at 6:00 on Monday evenings, and the team gathers for pizza, beer and fun afterward.
An open discussion group about issues of environmental sustainability. Led by church member Peter Flora, this group meets most Sundays at 9:30am.
