Our Members
Our members come from a broad spectrum of backgrounds, and have many different beliefs and activities. Here is a sampling of answers we've received to the following questions:

Many members describe themselves simply as Unitarian Universalist, but others use some sort of combination label, such as
- Humanist UU
- UU Pantheist

- UU and Naturalistic Theist
- UU with thoughts of many things

What brought you to Concord UU? (A random sample - more to come!)
- Community, liberal spiritual practice, and the music.
- Deep thought!
- Desire to explore concepts of the "divine." Religious education for kids. Earth-Centered Spirituality Group.
- Friends, covenant group, spiritual renewal.
- It was a welcoming and safe haven when I suddenly realized that I was not Christian. I'm so glad I found this church then, and learned I was not alone in my doubts and questions.
- Sense of mission (of UU beliefs) needs to exist as a counterpoint to "mainstream" religious institutions.
- Marcel (our minister) and sense of community

- Supportive community and stimulation by others' insights.
- I love being part of a faith community that recognizes there are many different paths to the divine, and where the thing that unites us is not a common religious belief, but a common vision for a responsible relationship with each other, the world community, and our planet.
- Connection to the people in the congregation. Challenge to be a better person.
- The community of like-minded yet different from me members. Also weekly reminder of how I can affect the world.
