Event Spaces Available for Rent
We are proud of our lovely building and are happy to share the space with the community. We have several different types of space available to rent, appropriate for various sizes of meetings and events. We regret that we are unable to rent to non-members for private social events. Please review the following room descriptions and contact the church office (office hours: Tuesday–Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) if you have any questions or if you would like to begin the rental process.
The Concord UU Church is a bright and beautiful venue for your wedding ceremony. Our Sanctuary and Chapel are available to suit both large and small ceremonies. Although our minister is not available to perform non-member ceremonies, we can refer you to a justice of the peace connected with our church, or you may bring your own officiant. Our lovely grounds feature wildflowers and flowering shrubs to provide a spectacular backdrop for your wedding photos. Please contact the office for more information.
Sanctuary (maximum capacity: 300)
A unique space with a joyous atmosphere: this octagon-shaped space has red brick walls with floor-to-ceiling windows, which flood the room with natural light no matter the season. Two sets of padded wooden pews face the front dais, with an aisle down the center. This space has been successfully used for weddings, lectures, and a capella performances. (No food or drink is allowed in this room.)
Fellowship Hall (maximum capacity: 200 / 114 for dining)
Wide-open space with garden view: this space rents with the adjoining large kitchen. A pull-down screen is available at one end of the room and blinds can darken the space. Ample quantities of folding tables and chairs are conveniently stored nearby for use in this function hall.
This space is often used to hold receptions as well as large meetings and presentations.
Parlor (maximum capacity: 40)
Cozy furniture with garden views to the left and right: this space is both comfortable and functional. It is a space off the main hallway of the building —though there are doors to close, this room can not be “closed to through traffic.” Card tables and padded folding chairs are available to set up in this area to host small groups such as social gatherings and book groups.
Chapel (maximum capacity: 40)
Wonderfully calming atmosphere: though the Chapel is relatively small, it is large in spirit! Brick walls, with glass blocks scattered throughout, meet the ceiling at a roofline surround of windows. This space is a popular rental for intimate weddings, meditation and yoga classes, as well as stress-free meetings. (No food or drink is allowed in this space.)
Classrooms (up to 20 depending on the room)
These rooms are made for working: each of our five classrooms offers useful space for meeting and working. Room 8/9, a large space with a dividing curtain wall, is the largest classroom.
Room 7 functions as our library; it offers a large table to comfortably seat eight people. Rooms 6, 5, and 4 are all equipped with counters and sinks and often have folding tables and chairs already in place. These areas are often rented for small meetings, support groups, and workshops.
The whole building is a smoke-free space. All the rooms and facilities are wheelchair accessible. Wireless internet is reachable by many rooms in the church. On-site parking is available, but limited (especially so on weekdays). Please contact the church office to discuss how our rental spaces might work for your event. (Please note that spaces fill quickly, so it is wise to complete the necessary rental paperwork and pay the deposit required for a reservation at least one month in advance of your event!)

* Reduced rates are available for members of this church, “Matching Mission” non-profit organizations, on-going support groups, and groups whose missions are peace and justice oriented. Please contact the office to get further information about applying for a rental rate reduction.
* Facility Manager fee: Large groups, Saturday renters, and weddings will be required to hire the facility manager, at a minimum of $100, to ensure the spaces used have been thoroughly cleaned and are ready for use by the church. As a regular part of the rental agreement, renters assume responsibility for cleaning up after their own events (this cleaning includes bathrooms). If desired, any renter may hire the custodian during the initial rental paperwork.
