“Love Mischief and Other Curiosities”
Rev. Mary Higgins
Welcome to special guest this morning, our Northern New England District Executive, Rev. Mary Higgins. Whenever we get stumped by a question the Ministerial Search Committee, the DRE Search Committee, or the Pru is asking, Mary is the first person we call; for good reason. Of this service she says, “We all know that the tasks get done and very well here at the UU Church in Concord. How might we transform our place in each other’s hearts and in the life of the larger community if “love mischief” were our call and radical curiosity were our response? This is Miracle Sunday, when we will all bring our pledge cards to church and place them in the offering baskets. What an exciting gift of love. What a wonderful way to celebrate the fire of our commitment!

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a powerful program of instruction for dealing directly with life experiences in an open, honest and affirming way. Originally developed at the U-Mass Medical School's Center for Mindfulness by Jon Kabat-Zinn, MBSR training provides a proven means for awakening to the full experience of your life, for helping people to reduce discomfort associated with physical and emotional pain, and to improve participants' ability to cope comfortably with stressors and pain that cannot be eliminated. A commitment to 45-60 minutes per day of daily meditation/gentle movement is required in order to make the program successful for participants. Details: Sunday evenings, 6 - 8:30 pm, January 17 through March 14, All-day session Saturday, March 6, 9 am to 4 pm, $25 materials fee. To inquire further or register, contact Margaret Fletcher at 759-4290, mfletcher@well-aware.org.
