Acompanist, Calvin HerstCalvin joined the UU staff in 2013. He has performed throughout northern New England as a collaborative pianist and has also appeared in concert at the Kennedy Center, the Philadelphia Academy of Music, and throughout the Peoples’ Republic of China. In 2015, he was honored to be the recipient of the Governor’s Arts Award in Education.

He is the staff pianist for the Suncook Valley Chorale, and is the founding pianist of the Larksong Trio (with Peggo Horstmann Hodes, soprano, and Jennifer Yeaton-Parris, flute). Calvin received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees magna cum laude in piano performance from Ithaca College. He has also studied conducting extensively, including a summer at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.

He is a realtor with Cowan and Zellers Real Estate in Concord, where he has lived since 1997. He enjoys home renovation projects, windsurfing, and sailing.
