Mindfulness: It’s Easier than You Think
11:45am – 12:45pm in the Chapel and on Zoom
Have you ever been curious about mindfulness meditation and wondered whether it might be helpful in your life? Or perhaps you are practicing mindfulness now and are curious about further exploring ideas and meditation tools you may want to try? This is the third class of a four-part Contemplative Practices offering.
The topic for this Sunday will focus on how mindfulness and self-compassion can help us better navigate difficult situations by understanding and managing negative thought patterns and beliefs, and the negative emotions that often accompany them. We will explore using two self-compassion practices: loving kindness (metta) and RAIN (Recognize, Allow, Investigate and Nurture).
While the course is progressive with each session building on previous sessions, it will be presented in a way that a person can truly benefit from a single session. Led by Lee Leppanen.
