School Age

Young Explorers is our Sunday morning nature based faith exploration program for ages 5 to 13.
Young Explorers begin their morning in the Sanctuary with their parents or guardians. After a Time for All Ages in the sanctuary, they are invited to go with our childcare assistants and our Young Explorers Guide, Beth, to our natural playground for outdoor play based learning. Around 11:15, the children are offered a snack, and transition to faith exploration, engaging in activities and crafts meant to bring them deeper into exploration of our UU values. Children should come prepared to play outside in all weather. Pickup is from the Armenia White Room.
Young Explorers happens three Sundays per month:
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sundays | 10 am to 12:45 pm
New children are welcome to join anytime!
Young Explorers will
- be engaged with their whole hearts, minds, and spirits;
- explore our Unitarian Universalist values and being of service in the world; and
- create and experience authentic connection with one another, with the wider congregation, and with the natural world.
**The Young Explorers will play outside in all weather 20 degrees F and above, with the exception of thunder and lighting, sleet, or hail. Please bring your children dressed for the weather. We are currently accepting donations of gently used outdoor gear**
