“When I first came in I did not expect to find such warm and inquiring minds, such open and honest share, laughter, oh laughter everywhere.”  These choral lyrics will help welcome our largest cohort of new members in recorded history.  While there may not be laughter everywhere, there is a joy being in community, belonging to a community, that is more than simple pleasure or temporary happiness.  As is now reflected in our newly updated Ends (Goals):  “Our thriving congregation is living into a culture of belonging, centered in love, compassion, curiosity, courage, and joy.”  What might that look like at a time when many experience rather mixed emotions?  What role can our community play in balancing the anguish, fear, frustration, and sorrow so prevalent in society at large?
