Sometimes pivotal moments in history sneak up on us. A tsunami, a nuclear accident, a terrorist attack. Other times pivotal moments are predictable and shapeable. The imminent election of our next president is such a pivotal moment and we must accept our civic and moral duty to help shape the direction of this moment in history. As Unitarian Universalists we affirm and promote the right of conscience and the democratic process. Voting – and supporting others so they can vote – is therefore core to who we are as a faith community. The world and the future are listening to the votes we cast in person or by mail-in ballot.
