We will explore some of the creative, effective ways people past and present have countered violence with nonviolent protest. In large social justice movements and in our day-to-day lives, there are actions we can take to help de-escalate conflict and reduce violence.
While hymns might not be strictly necessary for our survival, a beloved hymn can offer grace in times of sorrow, courage in times of fear, and joy in times of celebration. As we say goodbye to the tumultuous year of 2018, we will sing some of the hymns that bring us hope, courage, and joy.

All are invited to attend a 45-minute Maundy Thursday service in the Sanctuary. Minister of Lifespan Faith Development Lyn Marshall will lead this retelling of the story of Jesus’ last meal with his disciples. There will be an optional foot washing, and we will share a communion of bread and grape juice. Children are welcome.
