It can be so easy to get stuck stereotyping those who hold different beliefs or values. When doing so we deny ourselves the opportunity to learn from one another, to meet each other in empathy and compassion, and to find commonalities that would allow us to work toward shared goals. Today’s service will be a dialogue between a liberal UU and an evangelical Christian. Michael will be joined by Kevin Twombly who serves as the lead pastor of Restoration Foursquare Church, a church he founded after pastoring at Grace Capital Church for 19 years. Our goal is to listen carefully and with an open heart to one another, seeking first to understand, and only then to be understood.
